Some Inspiration from Music

“How is it that music can, without words, evoke our laughter, our fears, our highest aspirations?” — Jane Swan

Even though I teach Vedic Maths — I’ve loved music since I was a child. Sometimes when you get lost in the humdrum of life I think music can also give your life a direction apart from many other things. Music has the power to evoke laughter and our highest aspirations.

Recently in my chase of materialistic things, I discovered a song that moved me and changed my entire outlook toward life. It's a Sufi song- sung by Abida Parveen and Naseebo Lal and was written by Xulfi. It changed my meaning of life to something deeper and gave me a different high and understanding of things. Divine Revealation I think! So I thought of sharing this with you with its meaning so that you to can enjoy the spirit of Tu Jhoom!

Saari khushyaan mill jawan te
Piche ki rah Jaana
Tere bass mein kuj vi nai ae
Dil noo ae samjhana
Tu Jhoom

Translated it means in English:

If you find all the happiness- this world has to offer
Then what will be left behind (what joy will remain?)
There is nothing in your control
Teach this fact to your heart
….. just sway in ecstasy…. (lose yourself)

Understanding the meaning just invoked tears of joy and I now move in the world not questioning things but accepting them the way things are! This song is also one of the favorites of Shree also and we plan to listen to this the entire month!

Tu Jhoom!
